Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to the summer term. I hope you all had a good Easter holiday despite the weather! The forecast for this weekend is looking promising though, so hopefully we will enjoy some good weather over the summer term and beyond!

On this newsletter are some key dates for your diaries, but I just wanted to take the opportunity to highlight some key ones to you in this part of the newsletter:

Wednesday 24th April – PTA meeting at the school – 6pm start – all welcome

Week beginning Monday 13th May – Parents Evenings

Tuesday 18th June – Sports Days – EYFS and KS1 in the morning and KS2 in the afternoon

Wednesday 26th June – Back up Sports day (if needed)

Friday 5th June – Summer Fayre

Wednesday 24th July – Year 6 Leavers’ Service – 2:00pm (Families of Year 6 children invited only)

We hope to see many of you at the events above. More details will follow closer to the time, but I wanted you to have the dates right at the start of this term.

Some of our children in year 6 have been enjoying sporting success. Before the Easter break, I shared with you that Sam and William had qualified for the finals of the Cross-Country event. They both competed fiercely during inclement weather conditions and absolutely did themselves and us proud. In addition, this week, Rory from year 6 represented Mabe school in a golf tournament – he was the only primary aged child competing and finished in the top half of the table. A huge congratulations to these children. We love hearing about their success, so if your child is participating in any out of school clubs please do let us know so we can celebrate this with them.

I am looking forward to the term ahead – there is, as always, a lot to fit in as we aim to provide our children with the very best we can at Mabe. If you ever have any question, concern, comment or suggestion, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Best wishes

Mrs Stevens

Forest School Vandalised

Sticky note rectangle

We are very proud of our Forest School Area and have timetabled each class to have time in this area. However, over the Easter holidays these area has been accessed and vandalised which is such a shame. Our caretaker and Mrs Haycock have worked hard to tidy and make the area safe again, so that it can be used. Our school site is not to be accessed during weekends or the holidays so if you are aware of children being on site, please do let us know at school to help us try and stop this happening again in the future.
