Dear Parents and Carers,
Today, our year 6 children have been at Penryn College where they are having their transition day. We can’t wait to hear all about it on Monday! All of our children will spend this afternoon in their new classrooms with the next class teacher as part of our transition package. These sessions help to build the children’s confidence ahead of September. To support you in knowing about the children’s next year of learning and to provide you with an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, we are holding ‘Meet the Teacher’ meetings before the summer holidays. These will all take place at 3:00pm in your child’s next classroom. The dates are below on the right.
We hope that you will find these sessions useful. If you are unable to make the meeting for any reason, we will post the powerpoint slides on DoJo.
Thank you for all the tombola donations that have come in over the past week – we can take donations up to Tuesday so please do keep them coming! Cakes and fresh bakes to be sold at the fayre will need to be sent in on Friday 5th July. We are all looking forward to seeing many of you at this event – huge thanks to the efforts of our PTA members for all the time they have given to the organisation of this event.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend,
Mrs Stevens

Notices
We are very proud of the school visits and trips that have been offered across this year, and we are thankful for the contributions we have received towards these. However, the costs of the last few trips have not been fully covered and have had to be subsidised from school funds. We will only be able to continue to run trips if costs are covered – thank you for your support with this.
Summer Fayre.
We can continue to receive donations for each of the tombolas up to Tuesday next week. We will have 3 different tombolas at the fayre: a Teddy Bear Tombola, a Child’s Tombola and an Adult’s Tombola.
In addition to this, we will have a Cake Stall – please send in any donations for this on the day only – 5th July

Curriculum News
Following our trip to the beach on Monday, we will be using the storybook ‘The Train Ride’ as inspiration for our writing activities.
In RE, we will be learning what stories Jewish people tell about the beginning of the world and how to treat people.
Next Monday, we look forward to our Gylly Beach trip with Kittiwakes and Sandpipers. Activities will include team games and identifying seaside items that are living, dead or have never been alive.
Next week, Puffins will be exploring the causes and consequences between the struggle of power between the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings and see the effect that this had on England.
Herons will visit Penryn College for a day of creativity-centric activities.
We look forward to running our Fiver Challenge stalls at the Summer Fair! All profit will go towards a leavers party!
In PE, we will be continuing our tennis lessons with Mrs Pearce.
