Thank you for your support in ensuring your child has good attendance. Please be reminded that the government expects all children not to miss school due to family holidays. Any child who takes 6 days or more of unauthorised absence will need to be referred to the Local Authority.
Dear Parents and Carers,
What a fantastic week it has been here at Mabe – the sun shone for sports day and the children were great ambassadors for our school putting their best efforts into every sporting event. Thank you to everyone who came along to support and gave our children an audience to show their skills off to. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! A huge thank you to Mrs Haycock for all her organisation of the event so that it would run smoothly.
Last weekend, our year 6’s enjoyed their residential experience at Barton Hall, Torquay. We had changeable weather throughout the weekend, but the children really took on every challenge whether sunshine or rain! They abseiled, went on a giant swing, built and tested out their own raft, took on the zip wire and tried their hand at fencing and archery. It was a fabulous weekend and it was a privilege to attend this with them.
Finally, I am pleased to be able to provide you with the information for your child’s class teacher next year. We bid a fond farewell to Miss Chapman who is leaving us at the end of this year to take up a teaching position in another local Kernow Learning school; we wish her every success in her new teaching role.
Please the find the class and teacher information in the table below:

The first class transition session will take place on Friday 28th in the afternoon. In this first session, the children will meet with their new teacher and spend some time in their new classroom base. There will be other times throughout the next month for further transition so that children feel well settled before the summer holiday break.
Best Wishes,

Notices
Thank you to the support of our PTA at our sports day event selling refreshments. During this day, they raised £163.00. This year the PTA has supported the purchase of the year 6 leavers hoodies, their SATs breakfast and will be supporting to fund the cost of an upcoming year 6 trip. We are also in the process of organising for our playgrounds to be painted with sport lines and games – it is hoped this project will be completed over the summer holidays.
Summer Fayre Update.
To help our summer fayre be successful, we are requesting the following items to be donated for a variety of tombola stalls. Please see dates for each donation window:
Uniform Expectations
We fully understand that children have grown out of shoes, uniform and PE kits over the course of this year, and know that this may not be the time to be replacing just before the summer break. However, when purchasing uniform for September, please make sure that this is inline with our uniform policy set out on our website. If you need any help with providing the correct school uniform for September, please come and speak with us.

This week as part of our Personal Development programme:
themselves into every challenge, despite a lack of sleep!
